What makes our programs different — our Deep Smarts® approach

People learn through different means — some through words, others through pictures, others by doing, and so on. When conducting a training program you must cater for all learning methods so as to take all of the attendees with you on the learning path in order to make it enjoyable, engaging and effective.

What we know and how we behave are both programmed in our non-conscious (which is five-sixths of our brain). It is from our non-conscious that we react, work on a daily basis, behave whatever the circumstances without consciously thinking.

If, therefore, training is to be effective it must address and engage people’s non-conscious minds. It must link to one or more of their existing brain-patterns, so that they have a reference point from which to learn and adapt. If the training consists of ‘all new’ knowledge then it will ‘bounce-off’ the attendees’ minds as they don’t have anything to connect it with.

Our training, therefore links the new knowledge with both their existing management knowledge, differentiating it where necessary; and to their project experiences so that they can see its practical application in ‘the real world’.

Using ‘deep smarts®’ techniques our courses are deliberately designed to engage and expand the attendees non-conscious brains and understanding to learn, absorb and adopt the knowledge.

Our approach to training, coaching and education is therefore a combination of
  • concepts, frameworks and diagrams for those who are spatial in their thinking
  • instructive sessions for those who learn more through words than pictures
  • group discussions to get people to use their learning to understand key governance issues
  • practical exercises that get all participants to experience and apply the learning, see the results and understand the reasons.
